The project "Training on Internal Quality Assurance in West Africa (TrainIQAfrica)” is a training course for quality managers from West Africa aiming at establishing internal quality assurance systems in their higher education institutions. Design and realisation is managed by the Center for Higher Education Development and Quality Enhancement (CHEDQE) of the University of Duisburg-Essen in cooperation with the University of Potsdam.
Its main focus is the training of participants in fields like effective quality and change management, handling instruments of quality assurance, assessment and development of study programmes as well as the basics of evidence-based information management in higher education institutions. The development of underlying study materials is carried out by the Center for Higher Education Development and Quality Enhancement (CHEDQE) and the Centre for Quality Development (ZfQ), both providing a long-time expertise on the development and realisation of quality management tools in higher education institutions.
TrainIQAfrica is part of the DIES programmes for the development of management structures in higher education institutions. DIES (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies) is jointly conducted by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) and is financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
This project aims at contributing to a cooperative development of higher education institutions in West Africa. It also aims at intensifying the dialogue between German higher education institutions and HEIs and representatives of the scientific community in the West African region.
